Network Ratings Guide
All games on the network will use this ratings system to describe what is allowed.
Please note that rules may still vary from site to site, and these are only guidelines.

G • PG • PG-13 • R • NC-17

Our ratings are based on those of the MPAA, but may differ from the descriptions used on other sites.
All are welcome to go by this standard to rate your game - please feel free to link back to this page for the explanations.

Explanations of Ratings

• Appropriate for players of all ages - parents would be okay with young children participating.
• No swearing is permitted.
• May include light-hearted themes, but the game is not necessarily light hearted.
• Non-graphic or comic violence, such as getting hit on the head. Little to no bloodshed.
• Sweet romance like kissing and hugging, no sexual activity or nudity mentioned.
  
  Notable G Movies: The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, Bambi, Aladdin, Mary Poppins

• Appropriate for most players, but not younger children. Some parents may not be okay with some aspects.
• Some swearing or mild swearing may be permitted.
• May contain darker plots or themes.
• May contain light or vague mentions of abuse or drug use.
• Minimal violence or violence must be described in simple / not "gory" terms.
• Minimal sexual activity or sexual activity must be described in vague terms or fade to black.
• Few or vague mentions of nudity.
• Minimal jokes or language that may be considered bad taste.

• Swearing is permitted, some words or excessive use may or may not be allowed.
• May contain darker plots or themes.
• May contain some serious issues such as abuse, minor drug use, and/or mentions of drug use/abuse.
• May contain semi-graphic to very graphic violence and/or violent acts.
• May contain more descriptive sexual activity, but no pornographic descriptions.
• Mentions of nudity acceptable - few, vague, or no detailed mentions of genitalia.
• Fade to black may or may not still be required for some sexual scenes.
• May contain vulgar or lewd language, such as adult jokes.
  
  Notable PG-13 Movies: Avatar, The Dark Knight, Casino Royale, Drag Me to Hell, Hotel Rwanda, Marie Antoinette

• Contains darker plots or themes.
• May contain more serious issues such as sexual abuse or heavy drug use/abuse.
• May contain extremely graphic violence or violent acts.
• May contain descriptive or extremely descriptive sexual acts, but not pornographic descriptions.
• Mentions of nudity and genitalia acceptable, descriptions may be specific.
• May contain vulgar or lewd language, such as adult jokes.
  
  Notable R Movies: 300, The Hangover, The Exorcist, Hannibal, Fight Club, 8 Mile

• Contains extremely heavy graphic violence and/or sexual activity.
• Sexual activity may be pornographic in language or nature.
• Mentions of nudity and genitalia acceptable, descriptions may be detailed.
• Swearing is permitted with no restrictions.
• May contain heavy or graphic instances of sexual, physical, or mental abuse, and/or heavy drug use/abuse.
• Site is aimed toward adults and adult themes/behavior.
