Network Players Guide
Network Players Guide
Are you a member of Vault 713 and/or Second City?
Take a look at this guide to help you make the most out of your experience!
Player Keys
You can get a player key by joining either Vault 713 or Second City. Once you have a key, it applies to all network sites and remains your key 'forever.'
Joining A New Network Site
- If you are already a member of Vault 713 and are joining Second City, or vice versa, always identify yourself as a "new player." This lets the staff know it is your first time on that particular board. You should always include your player key or Roleplay Hub account on your account on the new board you are joining - even when identifying yourself as a "new player" - so that the staff of each site can locate your information.
Lost Player Keys
- If you are away for some time, the staff should still be able to locate your player key based on the characters you used to play or your Roleplay Hub username. We suggest all players register a Roleplay Hub account so that they can store all of this information in one place, but should you need assistance in finding lost information, just send a Private Message to a staff member on any network site.
Character Slots
Network Sites use Character Slots to keep track of how many characters each player is allowed to create. These slots are shared across all network sites, so no matter where you play, if you have available slots you can create new characters.
Joining A New Network Site
- Each time you join a new network site you are allowed 3 "extra" slots, just like a brand new member. This includes your first character you join with and two bonus slots you're given just for joining the game. This means that players with zero slots can still join new boards.
Earning Extra Slots
- Since your slots are shared across all Network sites, slots that you "earn" on one site can be used on another if you'd like. Regardless of this, the requirements for earning slots must be completed only on one board. You may not combine completed stories, for example, from two boards to have enough for a new slot.
Dropping Characters
- Slots lost due to dropped characters are kept track only on individual sites. If you drop 2 characters on Vault 713 and one on Second City, for example, you will not lose any of your slots.
Tracking Slots
- Each site has a place for you to request an update on how many slots you currently have. When you make this request, you can also request that your Roleplay Hub account be updated with your current number of available slots. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours to have your slot number updated on your Roleplay Hub account, so we encourage members to also keep track on their own.
Credits
Roleplay Hub members have the ability to earn credits for their posts here at Roleplay Hub, as well as completed stories and other events on Vault 713 and Second City. All credits you earn on all three sites will be added up on your Roleplay Hub account. Then, if you'd like to "spend" your credits on any site, you need just tell us what your Roleplay Hub account is.
If you have further questions, please visit the Help Desk at Roleplay Hub,
or the Help Desk forum on either Vault 713 or Second City.
