and the xbox and gamecube are now no more

I have a PS3 and I wondered actually if you could help me by recommending some co-op games to play with my GF? I seem to struggle finding decent co-op games, (especially for PS3, they all seem to be for Xbox!). The kind of game I'm looking for is just a fun action adventure or platformer. Helen doesn't like anything too gory or "shooty", so I'm thinking more like Lego Star Wars than Call of Duty!
Recently we've played these in co-op:
Lego Indiana Jones
Lego Harry Potter
Portal 2
Little big planet

Can anyone recommend some good new games for us to play?

I own a PS2 and an N64. I play FFX on PS2, and Mario Kart and Paper Mario on N64. Other than that, I've never even used an xbox or wii or anything. I'm so old school. I wasn't allowed to have video games growing up. Though, it was because my parent's had an atari before I was born, and they spent ALL of their time playing on it. So. The result was a video game-illiterate kid at the peak of video game playing.

Hmm I've own quite a range of Consoles over my lifetime lol. Some I still have. The one's marked with an asterisk I still have despite maybe not using them at all or as much.

I have the original Xbox 360. A gift from my brother after he bought the Halo Xbox 360. It is old and it doesn't work well and I only have one game.


My dream is to get the kinect (and probably a new Xbox) just so I can play Harry Potter for Kinect.

Onion, for some more co-op games... Perhaps:
Borderlands (cel-shaded first person shooter, if I recall right there is not a ton of blood but there is some. A lot of humour and throwbacks to pop culture though.)

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (1 or 2). 3rd person top down perspective with up to 4 player action. Tons of beat-em up fun.

Sengoku Basara or Dynasty Warriors (I'm not sure if Dynasty Warriors 6-7 have co-op, I do know that Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 has it though and it's a ton of fun mashing giant robots. You don't even really need to know/care about Gundam to enjoy the game.)
